Leopoldo L. Martín Rodríguez is a Permanent Assistant Professor (Profesor Permanente Laboral) of Applied Physics in the Department of Physics at the Universidad de La Laguna. He teaches physics in the degree in Architectural Technology and optical spectroscopy and lasers in the degree in Physics. His research focuses on optical microresonators, photonic sensing and laser-based instrumentation.
Previously, he was a Juan de la Cierva – Incorporación research fellow. He has worked on optomechanical microresonators at the Valencia Nanophotonics Technology Center, Universidad Politécnica de València; on laser frequency combs at the Telescopio Nazionale Galileo; on optofluidic microresonators at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, in Tal Carmon’s research group; and on rare-earth-doped optical materials, such as doped glasses and glass-ceramics, in the Laser Spectroscopy and High Pressure research group at the Universidad de La Laguna.
